I am a freelance archaeologist and a member of the Institute
of Field Archaeologists resident on the west side of Lewis.
I was a digger on the Stonehenge Riverside project for
5 weeks over 3 years; and a voluntary digger on a Wessex
Archaeology excavation at Truckle hill. I carried out
voluntary conservation work on MOD land on Salisbury plain.
I am the co-ordinator for the Bostadh Scottish Rural
Past project (this project is aimed at surveying the last
300 years of history and recording buildings and family
conections where possible. This is a 5 year project hosted
by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical
Monuments of Scotland) on Great Bernera, an island
joined to Lewis by a bridge.
When not conducting tours or out with the camera I am carrying
out my own archaeological research.
